BERCA COMPETITION
Project competition for an office building facade.
The goal of the competition is to design the substructure of a stretch of the facade in a new corporate building.
The building will have a curtain wall anchored at each floor slab, while in the lobby and the auditorium there is a large, no-slab space that needs an specific solution to support the facade.
A structure of semi-octahedral spatial mesh with double layer formed by spherical joints and tubular bars screwed to the joints is proposed.
This elements form a spatial net which conforms to the concave shape in two axes of the facade and, at the same time, it creates two new referential axes that produce a double layer facade which coexists with the horizontal predominance of the external wavy slats.
