NOVARTIS AUDITORIUM

Renovation project design of Novartis auditorium in Barcelona.

The aim of the project is, on one side, to increase the auditorium's capacity and, on the other side, improve its acoustics because the ceramic cladding of the side walls produce too much reverberation.

It is intended to make a new ceiling with metal slats which will provide a strong sound absortion and, at the same time, a new lighting system will be integrated. Moreover, the front and rear walls will be coated with fabrics to complete the soundproofing function of the ceiling.

Finally, it will be necessary to replace all the seats for new smaller folding chairs in order to increase the auditorium's capacity.
