SHOPPING AREA
Project design for a multifunctional area in Djibloho, Equatorial Guinea.
The project combines the shops and offices using a blend of different volumes which are interconnected by different heights, arbors and common areas.
All the buildings share a plinth which is used as a shopping area, so it is closer and easier to access for the pedestrians. The remaining floors of the buildings are used as offices, mainly governmental, and also as public use areas. All the office buildings are designed with glass ventilated facades except for the main building which has vertical wooden slats and it is a public facility.
The exterior is organized by creating different plazas and each one of them has a particularity depending on its function. The arbors connect these plazas with the buildings and create shady paths which are nice to walk by. There is also an artificial pond that follows these paths and provides a cooler temperature.
